The Union Church 1829 to the Present
Master Glass Blower Peter Greenwood will give us a tour of the Historic Union Church building. Using historic photos, he will explain the many uses of the building through the years.

Ask questions; read the old books; review a high school entrance exam; try your hand at various toys and games, or do some arithmetic problems on a slate.

Our towns main event for the 2026 anniversary celebration: town picnic, games, poster parade, surprises galore including a breathtaking drone light show starting at 9:00 pm.

“Play Ball”, the history of the Riverton Baseball Fields
“Play Ball”- Don Stein, former First Selectman, will give us the history on how the townspeople created the Riverton baseball fields in 1983- 1985.

Inspect the lower gatehouse of Saville Dam and visit two historic locations along the west side of the Barkhamsted Reservoir.
Bus boards at Peoples Forest main lot across from Squire’s Tavern at 9:30 and leaves at 10:00.
This event is part of Barkhamsted’s celebration of our country’s 250 birthday so we are making it free of charge.

Come hear BHS Historian, Paul Hart lecture on "Barkhamsted in the Revolutionary War on March 13th, 2026 at 7 p.m. at the Barkhamsted Senior/Community Center.
